Carl Angelone was a member of the Kiwanis Club of NW Houston for over 30 years where he served as treasurer and president
He was born in Rochester, New York, to immigrant parents Leonardo and Carmella Angelone and was the 3rd of 4 children. He excelled in school and found his way to success through both schooling and the Army ROTC. He was drafted in 1944 and served until 1946 in the US Army infantry receiving the combat badge and 3 battle stars.
He entered university in 1950 but a year later he returned to military service and was stationed in an infantry division in Japan. He continued his service in the Army reserves for numerous years.
After which, he and his brother built a business that lasted for over 25 years. His family described him as a devoted family man, and as mentioned, he also served in various charitable organizations.
For the Woodlands Kiwanis Club, he was a donor for our scholarships 2 to 3 years ago and before his passing at 96 years old, he left a sizable donation for our future scholarships.
One of the recipients of that donation is Esu Ekeruche, which is now a graduate and will embark on a new journey towards her dream career.
Through the Woodlands Kiwanis Scholarships, we are able to meet both donors and students who have hearts to serve. Let’s continue on the legacy!
