Get Hooked on Kiwanis

WHERE

Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world, one child and one community at a time.

WHEN

Kiwanis will positively influence communities worldwide — so that one day, all children will wake up in communities that believe in them, nurture them and provide the support they need to thrive.

WHO

Service is at the heart of every Kiwanis club. Members stage approximately 150,000 service projects. By working together, members achieve what one person cannot accomplish alone.

WHY

Impacting communities — K-Kids for primary school children; Builders Clubs for adolescents; Key Clubs for teens; Circle K clubs for university students and Aktion Clubs for adults with disabilities.

One of the most beautiful parts of watching your child’s progression through the fishing stages is the confidence it imparts. Fishing, it turns out, provides a lifetime of milestones.

We are going fishing with the Kids of Montgomery County.

Get your kids outside, get a rod in their hands, and watch them blossom into young adults that respect and admire the outdoors.

Our mission is to introduce urban and rural children to the wholesome sport of fishing while instilling a love and respect for the outdoors.

Together we can hook ’em early!

Fishing with kids is a great way to build confidence. When kids catch a fish, they will feel a sense of accomplishment.

This is an excellent opportunity to teach kids about setting goals, learning what’s necessary, working hard, and then going out to achieve them. As with anything in life, intrinsic motivation is critical.

Tips

Learning how to fish is overwhelming. The act of dropping a line is easy, but being a successful angler is hard. That’s why they call it fishing and not catching.

  • This free event is open to kids from toddlers to age 16 and their parents or guardians.

  • Young anglers need to bring their rods, reels, and tackle, but we provide the bait.

  • Volunteers, including local Key Club members, will be on-site to lend a hand.
